1. Overview
TipTapp is a contactless tipping platform designed for the gig economy, enabling users to send tips remotely without face-to-face interaction. The platform minimizes personal data usage while allowing limited, user-controlled identification during tip interactions.
This policy explains how data is collected, used, stored, and protected while using the TipTapp application.
2. Data Collection & Use
2.1 Account Information
- Users currently register using Google Sign-In.
- We receive and store:
- Email address (for account identification and communication)
- Users may optionally define a profile display name, which is shown to the other party when requesting or approving a tip.
- We do not require real names, phone numbers, or additional identifying details.
2.2 Payment Processing
- TipTapp does not collect, process, or store credit card or bank account details.
- All payments, wallet balances, and withdrawals are handled by Stripe, a third-party payment processor.
- Stripe may collect and process personal and financial data in accordance with its own privacy policy.
3. Location & QR Code Usage
- Location permissions may be requested during:
- Initial setup, to determine the user’s country
- QR code registration, to assist with address autofill
- TipTapp does not continuously track user location.
- When a QR code associated with a specific physical address is scanned, the system may associate that scan with the registered address only for the purpose of processing the tip request.
- Location data is not used for advertising and is not shared with other users.
4. Anonymity & User Visibility
- TipTapp is designed so that no direct contact information (such as phone numbers or email addresses) is shared between tippers and service providers.
- During a tip request or approval, the other party may see:
- The sender’s or receiver’s chosen profile display name
- Display names are user-defined and do not require real-world identification.
- No personal contact details are exposed through the platform.
- While TipTapp secures its own systems, we are not responsible for data handling or breaches originating from third-party providers (e.g., Google, Stripe).
5. Wallet System, Fees & Funds
5.1 Wallet Balances
- TipTapp operates a digital wallet system.
- Users may top up their wallet balance and use it for future tips.
5.2 Fees
- Payment processing fees are determined by Stripe.
- Fees incurred during wallet top-ups may be proportionally allocated across subsequent tip transactions.
- Service providers receive the tip amount minus applicable processing and withdrawal fees, which are disclosed at the time of withdrawal.
5.3 Interest & Platform Revenue
- Users are not entitled to interest on wallet balances.
- Any yield or financial benefit generated on pooled balances held by the payment processor is considered platform revenue and used to operate and maintain the service.
6. Withdrawals & Identity Verification
- Service providers may use the app without identity verification.
- Identity verification (KYC) is required at the time of withdrawal, as mandated by our payment processor.
- Withdrawal minimums and fees will be displayed before confirmation.
7. Refunds & Cancellations
- Tips: Tip requests are initiated by service providers and must be explicitly accepted by the tipper. Once accepted, tips are non-refundable.
- Wallet Top-Ups: Refunds for accidental wallet top-ups may be requested only if funds have not been used for tipping.
8. Account Deletion & Data Retention
- You can request account deletion by following the steps at /delete_account_request/ or by emailing info@tiptapp.cloud.
- After confirming your request, account data will be scheduled for deletion within 30 days.
- Any remaining wallet balance will be returned, subject to payment processor requirements.
- Certain records may be retained longer where required by law or for fraud prevention.
9. Age Restriction
- TipTapp is intended for users 18 years of age or older.
- We do not knowingly collect data from minors.
10. Service Availability & Limitations
- TipTapp is provided on an “as-is” and “as-available” basis.
- We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free service.
- We are not liable for:
- Temporary outages

- Third-party service disruptions
11. Acceptable Use & Account Termination
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts in cases of:
- Fraud, money laundering, or suspicious financial activity
